Sand T Kalloch’s most recent monochromatic landscape drawings are created from both direct observation and with the aid of photographs taken throughout the years. The artist likens her art making process to weaving. Each graphite line is slowly and meticulously drawn on the work surface until a final image emerges. Sand states that even though time-consuming and labor-intensive, the process provides a balance of structure and chaos that is fulfilling to her. The sources of inspiration are derived from places she has been, and the places she wants to be. These references points assist her to make connections across reality and fantasy. In presenting this body of work, Sand hopes to encourage conversations about the reality we live in and the landscapes of the imagination.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEJune 24, 2026, Attleboro, MASince 2002, the Attleboro Arts Museum has presented a summer 8 Visions group exhibition featuring the work of eight juried member artists. The exhibiting artist review process for this year’s 8 Visions began during the Museum’s Members’ Exhibition in December 2025. Over fifty artists applied to be considered for this premiere and highly competitive exhibition opportunity. Members’ Exhibition guest juror Sasja Lucas carefully reviewed the work of the applicants, and the field was narrowed down to twenty finalists. Lucas is a practicing artist, arts educator, co-founder of the Cornwall Gallery, the Jamaica Plain Art Center Gallery 659, JP Open Studios, and the Menino Arts Center. Two new jurors, artist and curator Jamaal Eversley, and Devon Zimmerman, the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, were invited to continue the process and combed through the finalists’ portfolios. After extensive evaluation, a talented team of eight was selected. Working in a range of disciplines and concepts, the 2026 8 Visions artists will exhibit their original artwork from July 25th – August 22nd, in the Museum’s Ottmar Gallery.Exhibiting Artists:1.
