FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 24, 2026, Attleboro, MA

Since 2002, the Attleboro Arts Museum has presented a summer 8 Visions group exhibition featuring the work of eight juried member artists. The exhibiting artist review process for this year’s 8 Visions began during the Museum’s Members’ Exhibition in December 2025.

Over fifty artists applied to be considered for this premiere and highly competitive exhibition opportunity. Members’ Exhibition guest juror Sasja Lucas carefully reviewed the work of the applicants, and the field was narrowed down to twenty finalists. Lucas is a practicing artist, arts educator, co-founder of the Cornwall Gallery, the Jamaica Plain Art Center Gallery 659, JP Open Studios, and the Menino Arts Center.

Two new jurors, artist and curator Jamaal Eversley, and Devon Zimmerman, the Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Ogunquit Museum of American Art, were invited to continue the process and combed through the finalists’ portfolios.

After extensive evaluation, a talented team of eight was selected. Working in a range of disciplines and concepts, the 2026 8 Visions artists will exhibit their original artwork from July 25th – August 22nd, in the Museum’s Ottmar Gallery.

Exhibiting Artists:

1. Agusta Agustsson – Melrose, MA

Mim Brooks Fawcett, executive director and chief curator states, “Each year new artists are selected to exhibit in 8 Visions and are asked to use their unique skills to demonstrate innovative thinking and superb technique.” She continues, “The 2026 edition maintains that high standard while communicating, for example, a lack of societal predictability, environmental concerns, feelings of loss, a need for connection, and the weight of the unexplainable.”

An opening reception will be held on Saturday, July 25th, 4:00pm – 5:30pm. RSVP by July 24th: 508-222-2644x10 or office@attleboroartsmuseum.org. The eight exhibiting artists will be at the reception and pianist Mark Taber will perform live. Taber’s performance is sponsored by The Ray Conniff Foundation. The reception is free and open to all.
